Best tech companies to work for 2023

Best tech companies to work for 2023:

With the tech industry booming after the pandemic, there’s never been a better time to get into it. But picking the right company can be stressful, and how do you know which tech companies are the best?

Even if a company looks great on paper, there’s no way to know for sure if you’ll enjoy working there on a daily basis without a crystal ball. All you can do is do your research, ask the right questions, and make sure the company’s values and culture are similar to yours.

In reality, it’s not just the big tech companies that are praised as great places to work; more and more tech startups are also claiming to have high employee satisfaction rates. So, what are the best technology companies to work for? And how do you know which one is the right one for you?

1. What is the best technology company to work for in 2023?
Unfortunately, there is no clear answer to this question. It depends on what you want from your job and what’s important to you now and in the future. Salary, culture, work-life balance, remote vs. hybrid, career growth, and company size are all things to consider when deciding if a tech company is worth pursuing.

When you hear “best tech company,” you might immediately think of giants like Meta, Google, or Apple. These companies offer higher-than-average salaries and the chance to work with some of the biggest names in technology. But they aren’t the only companies that offer exciting, career-boosting opportunities.

There’s nothing wrong with having a “dream” company you’d like to work for, but it can be a mistake to get too attached to it. There are thousands and thousands of tech companies, and there will be more than one “perfect” company for you at different points in your career. You need to figure out what kind of business is right for you (we’ll talk about this in more detail later).

Which technology companies pay the most?
There’s nothing worse than falling in love with a company only to find out your salary expectations don’t match up. Perks and benefits are nice, but you’ll want to make sure you’re getting a fair wage for your work, especially with inflation rising around the world. So, which tech companies are likely to pay above average?

When it comes to salaries, it shouldn’t be a surprise that the big tech companies (Meta, Google, Apple, Microsoft, Amazon, etc.) always come out on top as having the world’s highest salaries for tech professionals. Let’s look at a few examples of three popular tech roles. For consistency, we got 2023 salary data from Glassdoor and put it in USD:

  • The average salary for a web developer in the US is $82,604. LinkedIn is offering an average salary of $144,273, Apple is offering $102,220, and Amazon is offering $100,714.
  • The average salary for a UX designer in the US is $97,921. Paypal is offering an average salary of $159,270; Roblox is offering $156,246, and Microsoft is offering $132,049.
  • The average salary for a data analyst in the US is $71,597. Meta pays the most for this job, at an average of $127,961 a year. Uber pays the next most, at an average of $115,710 a year.
  • Location, seniority, and job role have a big impact on salaries, so you should use a salary comparison site like Glassdoor or Payscale to find out what the average salary is in your area.

Depending on where you are in your tech career and what you need for a good quality of life, you should figure out what your salary bottom line is so you don’t settle for less than you’re worth. Don’t forget that you can also negotiate salaries!

3. How to find the right tech company for you
On paper, any tech company might sound great, but going through the interview process if you’re not sure you’ll like the job will waste their time and yours. So how do you know if a company is right for you?

Here are three things to think about before you start looking for a job:

Figure out what you want to do first.
Each company has its own values and ways of doing things. Interestingly, so do you! You have to decide what matters to you in a role.

  • Do you want to have options about where you work?
  • Are professional growth and career development important to you?
  • Are you looking to join a big team, or do you prefer to work alone?
  • The answer to these questions might be “all of the above,” but figuring out what your work must-haves are and how you work will help you get rid of companies that don’t share your values.

Research it.
Every company will, of course, try to make a good impression. It’s important to get an accurate picture of what it’s like to work there without actively looking for bad reviews.

What are the reviews on Glassdoor saying? What is the company’s history? Have there been many layoffs? In some cases, you might even want to talk to people in your network who already work there for an honest conversation about their experience.
